My Ghost is now on sale through November 1st.

Head on over to for 60% off My Ghost through November 1st. If my calculations are correct that means the story is only a dollar for the entire month of October. And what better month to read a ghost story??

Here’s all the info you need…

PiaVeleno_MyGhost_200x300A ghost of my past haunts me already, so running into another in the same graveyard where it all began is almost more than I can stand.

So why the hell did I bring him home?

Happy October and Blessed Samhain, dear Readers!

Another Status Update for Out of Print Books (aka former SP releases)

Quick (or maybe not so much) update on my four former SP stories.

PiaVeleno_ForEdenTheShadowfireRing_200x300* Bound By Love has been officially retitled For Eden: The Shadowfire Ring. It will be rereleased in February, four years after its first release, but less than a year after rights reverted and it went out of print. Prepping for this release has reminded me of the ideas I had for these two. Bound was never meant to be a solo release. Those of you who read it before it disappeared from shelves know that Beliaz made a deal at the end that could lead to all kinds of trouble.

Fallen_coverlg* Fallen will be rereleased at Loose Id in less than a month. It was originally slated for the first Tuesday of November. I’m scheduled to be out of town that week and that brought back memories of a certain trolling fiasco that occurred so conveniently during a previous out of country trip. Funny how these things happen while one’s back is turned and one’s internet connection is severed. Needless to say, I requested a different date and the wonderful LI folks readily agreed.

PiaVeleno_MyGhost_200x300* My Ghost is still on sale at with the coupon code HE39Z. This coupon will remain active through the end of October. I’m a bit surprised at how little the code has been used so far, but I guess that means you’ve all already read this dark little ghost story. I like the new cover art so much I’m considering a sequel just to see that model grace another cover. What do you think?

* Man Whore is still out of print. If you see it for sale somewhere, please let me know. Damn pirates! I have a couple of ideas on where I may submit it for republication, but I want to clean up the synopsis for the entire series before doing so. Some reviewers commented that the first novel seemed fragmented, like two stories smashed together into one book. I get that. As a series, that’ll make more sense, so I want to make sure I can sell the series theme with the first book, and give the editor enough info to tie future hints into the first story. Give me some time, dear readers. I will get this done, and with that, the next story in the series.

That’s all for reverted rights. In other writing news, I do have a couple of works in progress, but nothing ready to send out just yet. One is a contemporary friends-to-lovers theme that I’ve been working on on and off for a while, and the other is the sequel to Fallen – aka Bran’s story. With the work I’ve been doing getting Fallen ready to publish, Bran is more in the forefront of my mind, though further from being ready to submit. I should get back to him now…

Happy October, dear Readers!

New Release: My Ghost

It took four long months but I finally carved out the time to get My Ghost rereleased. I got my rights back on this short ghost story during the same week I finally got the promotion I’d been angling for at the day job. That day job had to come first, of course.

This kickin’ cover was created by the talented Syneca Featherstone!

My Ghost

My Ghost is now available on Smashwords by clicking HERE.

I’m working on converting files to upload at ARe and Amazon. Smashwords will filter down to B&N, Apple, and a few others. Hopefully soon. For those of you who have read the first edition, there are no major changes to the story in this new release.

Happy Sunday, dear Readers!

Seven on Sunday

Six Sentence Sunday is long gone but that doesn’t mean we can’t have the occasional teaser, right? I’ve finally started the process to do something with the stories that reverted back to me at Silver Publishing’s formal implosion, so here are seven sentences from one of those stories to hold you over until I’ve finalized the details of the re-release.

My Ghost

“I was a friend,” I said.

In the twilight gloom he might not recognize me. My hair shorn up the back now, had been long enough for a ponytail when last he saw me. With my face tipped down, hiding behind the longer locks which fell from my forehead like a veil, he couldn’t see me. I hoped he wouldn’t remember my voice after all this time, because trying to explain—confessing my pain and fear and loss—would be the end of me tonight. I couldn’t do it. Not then, not now.

My plan is to have My Ghost and Bound By Love re-released by the end of the month. I’ll let you know where as soon as they’re ready.

For a teaser from Bound By Love, check out this old Six Sentence Sunday post.

Goodbye Silver

With little notice, Silver Publishing has gone through some changes that required them to revert all rights back to me. All Silver Publishing books should now be off any retail websites. Please be patient, as I hope to turn them around to other publishers as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I hope to give away a couple of paperbacks still kicking around the house somewhere. Possibly this week.

With this, I’m also asking for recommendations for cover artists. I hope to self-publish the short stories while I work through the submission process for the longer ones. Send me names and examples. If I score a good one, I could have a finder’s fee. Free ebooks anyone?

Halloween Sale

Apparently My Ghost is on sale this week (along with a bunch of other Halloween titles) only at Silver Publishing’s website.

Happy Halloween, dear Readers!

Powering Down

I finally wrote that Hunger Games post I promised in the last “Coming Soon” post, and then we lost power to the charming Miss Sandy. Without power, my wireless internet doesn’t work. I have limited internet access here, on the office computer, however unauthorized deviced (translation: my personal laptop) are not permitted on the network. No password granted, no internet, no uploading a pre-written post.

So instead of sharing my thoughts on hunger, I’ll let you read something more fun. Halloween is tomorrow, so how does a free copy of My Ghost sound to you, dear Readers?

Leave your email address in a comment — no other rules — and I’ll draw one person to get a PDF copy of My Ghost first thing Wednesday morning.

(Disclaimer: If I don’t get power back today, I can’t email… but our area is recovering quickly, so I’m optimistic.)

If you’d like to leave the title/author of your favorite ghost story, I’ll read horror all year long. Recommendations most welcome, but not required to enter the drawing.

Have a great day and stay safe.

Happy Halloween!

Review: My Ghost

Click HERE to read a great four star review for My Ghost. It always makes my heart soar to read a review by a reader who seemed to see the story from inside my own head. I know, that’s the point of storytelling, but ask any writer, and they’ll tell you that every story is subject to interpretation, sometimes in ways we never expected.

Thanks to M/M Paranormal Romance for the great review. I’m glad you enjoyed this short story.
